Planning A Sunday Wedding
We had the pleasure of hosting a Sunday wedding at Koury Farms for Madeline and Drew this June and we thought we’d take this opportunity to highlight the benefits and things to consider when planning a Sunday wedding.
As a wedding venue in North Georgia, we tend to get booked out very quickly for weddings that take place on Fridays and Saturdays. Choosing to host a wedding on a Sunday can offer numerous benefits, including potential cost savings and increased availability of vendors. This guide will help you plan a beautiful and memorable Sunday wedding just like this one, beautifully captured by Amber Brannen Photography.
The first thing to consider when planning a Sunday wedding is your guest list. Being a Sunday, many guests would need to travel back home either after the festivities or the next day due to work commitments on Monday.
Keep in mind that if you have many friends and family that do not live locally then there could be more of a chance that they may not be able to attend since they would most likely have to take vacation days.
You could consider the timing of your event to accommodate guests needing to travel home after. For example, starting earlier in the day so guests can leave at a reasonable time.
Sundays are typically less busy than Saturdays, so you may find it easier to book your dream location. Finding a venue (such as ours!) that can accommodate both the ceremony and reception is a major advantage as it helps streamline logistics and reduce transportation time for you and your guests. Here at Koury Farms, we can even offer an elegant bridal villa for the wedding party to get ready in. Madeline took advantage of this, allowing a stress-free start to her special day!
Sunday weddings can sometimes offer a wider selection of vendors since this day is less popular for events. When selecting your vendors, it is also important to verify if they have different rates for Sunday services. At Koury Farms, we have a preferred vendor list and would be happy to help you with vendor selection. The vendors that Medeline & Drew chose for their wedding day can be found below.
We loved that Madeline & Drew’s dress code was “Sunday Best”. The bride opted for a gorgeous fitted lace dress with a v-neck cut out at the front. The bridesmaids wore stunning lilac floor-length dresses, fitting for the summer season. Gorgeous blush floral bouquets with eucalyptus springs designed by Isabella Concetta Design completed the look. The groom wore a smart black suit and shirt paired with a lilac waistcoat and bowtie to match the color palette of the lilac bridesmaids dresses. Groomsmen complemented the Groom in black suits with white shirts.
When planning a wedding it is always helpful to provide transportation options for your guests, especially if your venue is in a remote location. Book accommodations for out-of-town guests and offer information on local hotels and transportation options.
If you are choosing a Sunday wedding on a holiday weekend beware that prices could be inflated for a long weekend.
By following these steps and considering the unique advantages of planning a Sunday wedding, you can create a beautiful, memorable, and stress-free event that you and your guests will cherish for years to come. Madeline and Drew’s wedding proves you can still have the wedding of your dreams on a Sunday. Be sure to check out more of the photos below.
