Wedding Vendor Highlight – The Catering Cafe

Today we are featuring The Catering Cafe, one of our preferred vendors here at Koury Farms and we are delighted to chat with the owner, Jessica Huber and showcase her business on the blog.

The Catering Cafe was born after years of working in all aspects of the food industry. Jessica says she loves cooking, food presentation, serving others and being able to feed large crowds of people delicious meals! Catering brings all of those things together and usually it’s to help celebrate something special, which is always an honor to be a small part of!

Tell us about your wedding catering experience?

Personally, I’ve been working weddings for 20+ years and a wedding just happened to be the very first event for The Catering Cafe! Since then, weddings have become the bulk of our business and making sure each one is remembered for having a fresh and delicious buffet is of the utmost importance to us!

Do you offer free tastings?

When I am invited to attend Prop and Plays or public events I let my clients know where I will be so they can come and sample my food and see my set up!

What are popular meal choices for wedding parties?

Grazing Tables and Appetizer Tables are very popular for cocktail or picture hour and my 3 most popular buffet options are Italian, Mexican and BBQ. I also have a lot of clients that build custom menus based on their personal preference or needs.

Can you create a custom menu?

Absolutely! I can build a menu especially for you and your event or you can change and swap items in my standard menus. I always like to say you can dress up any type of food in its presentation!

Can you take care of various allergy / dietary requests?

Yes, I take allergies very seriously. I also like to make sure that those meals are still just as delicious and special as any of the other meals.

How far in advance do couples need to book their caterer?

I believe each situation and event is unique, and although I can typically accommodate “last minute” events, it’s also a good idea to book as much in advance as you can in order to secure your dates and relieve unnecessary stress for yourselves.

Will food be made onsite or brought in?

The food is brought in, but depending on the type of food or services involved sometimes we build appetizers or certain dishes on site.

Any tips or advice for couples looking to book a caterer for their wedding?

There are a lot of amazing options out there! My biggest piece of advice is to try and book with someone who has been recommended to you or is known to be reliable and consistent!
