At Koury Farms, love stories find a place to blossom, and we recently had the immense joy of hosting a wedding that perfectly embodied the spirit of love and adventure. Russell and Martha’s journey to this day has been a beautiful one, from their first meeting in college to the moment they became husband and wife under our rustic pavilion. We’re excited to share this lovely couple’s light blue and navy wedding with you!
Martha and Russell’s love story began in February 2013. They first met through a student ministry fundraiser at the University of Georgia. After several years of friendship, losing touch, moving cities and then reconnecting, fate always found a way to bring them back together. Eventually they pursued a relationship together in 2021.
After a hike up Kennesaw Mountain, a place that meant so much to the couple, Russell asked Martha for her hand in marriage. Martha always thought she would have an eloquent response during this special moment, but all she could manage to get out was “Yeah!”. After their engagement, the couple celebrated the happy news with their friends and family at a surprise engagement party.
Their love story found its perfect setting at Koury Farms, nestled amid nature, surrounded by the charm of farmhouse aesthetics. The light blue and navy wedding theme, chosen by Russell and Martha, was reflected in every detail, from the bridesmaids’ dresses to the decor of their ceremony and reception.
Martha and her bridesmaids prepared for the big day in our bridal villa, while Russell and the groomsmen readied themselves in their suite. The couple shared a sweet first look in our vineyard, where the emotion on Russell’s face said it all. They exchanged meaningful gifts and then captured timeless couple’s portraits amongst the stunning grounds of the venue. Their wedding party also joined in the fun, with the bridesmaids donning light blue dresses and carrying bouquets of white flowers with greenery that beautifully complemented Martha’s bouquet. The groomsmen looked dashing in their navy suits, creating a crisp and elegant contrast with the lush greenery of summer.
For the ceremony, the couple draped airy shades of blue fabric over our wooden arch and had white flowers with greenery in our white wooden lanterns lining the aisle. The ceremony set-up exuded a classic and timeless charm, setting the stage for the couple to exchange their heartfelt vows under our outdoor pavilion.
In front of their nearest and dearest, they spoke their sentimental promises and at one point turned to face the crowd, taking a moment to absorb the love and support of those who had gathered to witness their special day. A beautiful knot-tying ceremony on a unity cross sealed their union, and a joyful kiss marked their official journey as husband and wife.
Cocktail hour was a delightful affair with Pinky’s shaved ice truck serving up a refreshing treat for guests to enjoy in the summer heat. Personalized cups served as wedding favors, ensuring that every guest took home a memento from this unforgettable light blue and navy wedding.
For the reception decor, Russell and Martha chose light blue runners down the middle of our farmhouse tables, adorned with bud vases filled with white flowers, white floating candles, and greenery. The result was a simple yet classic look that perfectly complemented the day’s theme.
The couple made a grand entrance, cut their cake, and mingled with their guests. The evening continued with their first dance and dances with their parents, followed by the opening of the dance floor to their guests. Laughter and celebration filled the night as they danced, celebrated, and marked the beginning of their lifelong journey together.
At Koury Farms, we are honored to have been a part of Russell and Martha’s love story and their extraordinary light blue and navy wedding.
